A Map & Menu Weekend: 04.05-04.07

Our weekend started off in a pretty ordinary fashion – we picked up a pizza on Friday night for dinner and stayed in to watch a movie. Saturday held a bit more yard work and errands around town. Sunday morning we enjoyed a brunch at a new-to-us spot north of town and then we visited our favorite garden shop where we purchased our first tree. After a quick trip to a nearby field to play fetch with the dogs, things with the foster pup’s adoption began to move at lightning speed and we found ourselves meeting his adoptive family up in Augusta that afternoon! Of course they fell in love with him instantly, and he was given the name, Atticus. Little Atticus accompanied his new family home that very evening and we bid him a (very) tearful goodbye. It’s been an adjustment not having him around the house, but thankfully we’ve seen multiple photos of Atticus loving life with his family. We’re incredibly lucky that Atticus’s parents both work with Michael, so we’ll probably be receiving pretty regular updates as to how he’s doing. As you’ve surely gathered, we fell pretty hard for this dog, but we’re confident he is now living the life he was meant to live.

  1. Wow! That was fast! I’m so glad to hear that you’ll get regular updates from the pup’s new family. Must have been tough to let him go, though. Do you think you’ll foster again?

    1. Yes – it was so unexpectedly fast, Jennifer. We do think we’ll foster again once our travel/work schedules slow down a bit. We learned a lot about ourselves and our family dynamic through the foster experience. Please feel free to let us know if you have any questions about fostering – we’re happy to help!
