Brunch at The Honey Paw

Cream Cheese Biscuit Sandwich

Although we’ve grown to really love cooking and therefore don’t go out to eat nearly as much as we used to in the past, we still have a handful of go-to restaurants in Portland that we like to visit whenever we’re craving something extra tasty that involves zero effort on our part. The Honey Paw is one such place we find ourselves returning to time and time again. Whether it’s a casual lunch or a more special dinner, The Honey Paw strikes a perfect balance between creativity and comfort.

During a Mother’s Day brunch last week at The Honey Paw with my parents, we happened upon the crab rangoons and devoured them so quickly that we promptly ordered a second round. The creamy Fermented Tofu Crab Rangoons had been on my mind pretty much all week, so when Michael, who was not there for the Mother’s Day brunch, asked if I wanted to grab a bite to eat in town on Sunday, my mind immediately went to the crab rangoons that he absolutely needed to try. Thankfully they were on the menu again, and the dish repeated its rapidly disappearing magic trick, as it did the week before with my family… twice.

This past visit, rather than sticking with my go-to (favorite) Spicy Dan Dan Noodles, I opted to try the Cream Cheese Biscuit Sandwich, served with hot smoked salmon, pickled onion, and pea shoots, that I’d seen on the restaurant’s Instagram earlier in the day. Ordering with my eyes has never served me better, the biscuit was outstanding, and Michael ended up ordering the Dan Dan Noodles, just in case I needed my fix.

If you’ve yet to experience brunch (or any meal) at The Honey Paw, we recommend remedying that as soon as you possibly can.

  1. It always slays me when you do brunch posts! Ahhhh…we don’t have everything in France. :)

  2. Looks amazing, those eggs! I was going to say I’ve never had brunch there, but I have and it was so long ago, clearly the menu is different. FYI the strawberry rhubarb soft serve is on right now.
