In an attempt to rescue me from the construction zone that is our house and break up the time I have to spend in the walking boot, my mother is whisking me away to Stowe for a few days this week. While preparing for our getaway I realized that I never got around to sharing the few photos that I snapped from the last time the two of us went to Topnotch Resort with our three dogs this past October.

That week, Michael was in Prague for work, and my step-father was down in North Carolina, so we decided to break up our alone time by heading to Vermont together – her first trip to the Green Mountain State in almost ten years! After the requisite stop at Farmhouse Pottery in Woodstock, we spent the rest of our trip milling about Stowe and enjoying all that Topnotch has to offer. Traveling with three dogs was a first for me and while keeping up with each of them proved to be a decent amount of work for the two of us, it was worth every second. Our motley crew of pups, Abby, Mason, and Orvis, were treated like VIPs wherever we went and seeing the three of them scamper around Stowe together brought us so much happiness.

We stayed in one of Topnotch’s Cotton Brook suites, which, with its private side entrance & porch and two separate bathrooms, was the perfect setup for multiple people traveling with pets. This week we’ll be enjoying the same room setup, but sadly, this time Orvis won’t be making the trip with us, as I’m not much of a dog walker in the boot I have to wear. Thankfully, there’s no trip to Prague for Michael this time around, so he’ll be back in Maine to spoil Orvis with steak dinners and trips to the beach to make up for the fun he’s missing in his second favorite state.
