Chebeague Island Inn

Photo from last summer’s trip to Chebeague.

Yolanda Edwards, the executive editor of Martha Stewart Living, writes the darling Travels with Clara blog about the adventures she takes with her daughter. This week they recapped their trip to Maine from last summer, including visits to Chebeague, Kennebunk, Wiscasset, and Portland’s favorite new oyster bar, Eventide.

Our new ice cream maker arrived last week and we’ve already tried three (whoops!) different recipes, including this one for Backyard Mint from our Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams at Home book.

These Lake Tahoe photos by Jamie Beck are mindblowingly amazing.

A Continuous Lean did a piece on one of the more remote parts of Maine. The Libby Camps, three hours north of Bangor in Ashland and at the end of an 18-mile dirt road, are about as off the beaten path as one can get.

Thanks to the Ruby Press blog, I’m now excitedly following along with the travels of photographer, Leela Cyd through her blog, tea cup tea.

The Portland City Guide released on Camille Styles this week highlights some of our favorite places in and around town, including: Eventide, Scratch Baking Co., Otto, Duckfat, and Pai Men Miyake.

Happy Father’s Day weekend, friends – enjoy the next few days!

  1. Just a note to let you know how much I enjoy your lovely blog (especially Weekend Reads). Like you and Michael, my family and I love to travel throughout Maine, take pictures, and experience local food. We’re kindred sprits! I also have a blog that features shops, restaurants, and events throughout the state, but with a children & family slant If you’re able, check out Cute Potato: Your Guide to Kid-Friendly Maine (we’ve added Map & Menu to our blog roll). Enjoy the weekend, and happy summer! Hope we can connect in the future.

    1. Jennifer, thanks for your sweet words. Cute Potato is a fantastic site! I’m so happy our blogs have introduced us :)
