I spent last week out west, visiting my family in Cheyenne, Wyoming. I was born there and used to go visit my father in Cheyenne every summer, but until last week I hadn’t been out in a few years. This visit was primarily about spending time with family members I don’t get to see all that much, but we did manage to squeeze in a little sightseeing in between family get togethers and a blizzard that unfortunately thwarted our ski plans.
Prior to our trip, I told my dad that I needed to photograph a buffalo while I was in Wyoming, and thankfully he took me to the right spot, just over the Colorado border. The other photos are from our pre-blizzard hike around Vedauwoo in Medicine Bow National Forest. We have lots of family photos of me and my two sisters crawling all over the granite rocky outcrops of Vedauwoo (pronounced vee-da-voo) when we were children, so it was especially fun for me to be back as an adult.
Hopefully Michael and I can plan another trip out west in the near future. I haven’t been to Jackson in ages, and I’d love to be there for his first Yellowstone/Tetons experience!
