2017 Pumpkins

Happy Halloween! Although we still need to make a candy run for tonight’s trick-or-treaters, we have readied the front steps with Michael’s three jack-o-lanterns. If you’ve been following the blog for the last few years, you know that Michael takes his pumpkin carving very seriously. In the end, I couldn’t keep up with his skills and ended up retiring my carving knife a couple of years ago. Besides, it’s a multi-day process at our house and I happen to be a little lacking in the pumpkin patience department.

Per usual, my favorite is the annual Orvis pumpkin, but I also love the bewildered looking one that Michael made because he knows I love a silly pumpkin. The show stealer of the year, however, is definitely going to be the teeth on the mean white pumpkin. Year after year, trick-or-treaters rave about the scary pumpkins when they’re picking out their candy.

For those of you celebrating Halloween tonight, we hope you have a fantastic time – whether you’re dressing up yourselves or staying in with friends to eat hand out candy and watch a scary movie (like us.)

  1. The teeth on that one are spectacular—Michael is a master! And Orvis and his pumpkin are too cute. I wish we got trick-or-treaters, but third floor apartment, not so much. Stay in, eat candy, and watch a movie though—check! :)
