Years ago, Meredith had some work in New Haven and stayed at The Study at Yale, and ever since then, it’s been her goal to bring Orvis back for a weekend visit. The Study is stylish, comfortable, ideally located, and last but definitely not least, very dog-friendly – a perfect recipe for a Map & Menu stay. So just a few weeks ago, when we had another opportunity to return to New Haven, without hesitation, we booked a room (all of them are dog-friendly), threw Orvis’s bag in the car, and headed down the road with dog in tow.

When we checked in we were delighted to find that we’d be given a Campus View Room. Aside from the panoramic view of Yale’s skyline, the room was more than spacious enough for two people and a very large dog. The contemporary design of the room felt so clean and modern, but the cool blue walls gave the room a unique feel.

One particular highlight of our stay at The Study was the access to Yale’s Payne Whitney Gym that all guests receive. Having the ability to workout in such a 14 story state of the art facility or swim in a collegiate pool is a fantastic perk. Between the extremely accommodating staff, the wonderfully dog-friendly accommodations, and the excellent location & amenities, we will definitely be returning to The Study at Yale in the future and highly recommend it for any New Haven trip planning.
