The above photo is a peek at next week’s hotel post – a wall of sketches by Ludwig Bemelmans at Ocean House!

Planning a trip to Brooklyn has been on my mind a lot these past few weeks. Our friend, Sam, posted the best (and most delicious looking) photos on Instagram from her trip last weekend, and it seems as though many of my favorite bloggers have recently taken notice of the beautiful Wythe Hotel – see posts by Katie, Alex, and Jamie. And then this week, thanks to the Martha Stewart Living blog, I discovered Dailola’s Daily Dose – a blog about two Australian shepherds and their adventures in Williamsburg. To say I’m obsessed with this new-to-me blog is most certainly an understatement. And in even bigger news, the Wythe is a dog-friendly hotel! Who is excited for Orvis to take on Brooklyn?

During our December trip to New York, Michael and I were lucky enough to stay in a hotel that was also home to a Milk Bar location (not to mention the delicious Má Pêche). The Compost Cookie was my treat of choice while we were there, so naturally I was delighted to see Hither & Thither’s post on their Homemade Milk Bar Compost Cookies this week!

Travel was the theme on A Cup of Jo this week, and I immediately bookmarked her post, Renting Houses on Vacation. Each place she featured, plus the two in the postscript below, look amazing!

As someone who is always scheming ideas for weekend trips throughout New England, I particularly enjoyed going through this list of New England’s 25 Best Food Towns. Besides the obvious choices of Boston, Cambridge, Portland, and Providence, I was excited to see some of our favorite destinations for food in Maine listed, including Camden, Lincolnville, Rockland, and Kennebunkport among others. All in all, the list further reinforces why I love being a New Englander and having so many cities known for their food scene within a quick four hour drive.

Maine Restaurant Week begins today! Our friend, Susan, at Eater Maine has compiled a fantastic, helpful list of things to get you psyched for the next ten days.

Is it just me or is this year flying right on by? The time between writing these Weekend Reads posts appears to be shrinking, and planning for yesterday’s giveaway completely snuck up on me. C’est la vie! This next week and a half is sure to go quickly because of how excited I get for Restaurant Week. We’re headed to Bar Lola tonight and will undoubtedly try another spot at some point in the next ten days. We’d love to hear where you’re planning to go in the comments box below the post.
