Revisit: Hotel Fauchère

Hotel Fauchere Milford

When planning my drive from Maine to West Virginia last month for a wedding, I decided to split up the drive and stop at one of our favorite hotels – Hotel Fauchère in Milford, PA. We’ve only ever stayed at Hotel Fauchère during the winter months, so it was such a treat to see the hotel looking lovely in the summertime!

Upon arriving, I was delighted to see that the red & white striped awnings were out, the flag was flying, flowers were blooming in the garden, and there were even diners taking advantage of the beautiful summer evening by enjoying their dinner on the hotel’s giant porch. To say I was happy to be back at Hotel Fauchère for an evening is a great understatement – having visited the inn a handful of times before, part of me felt as though I was coming ‘home’.

I was taken up the stairs to a delightfully familiar-feeling corner room directly above the room from our last visit. This time, however, there was a tasty welcome treat waiting for me, as a thank you for writing the last Map & Menu post. This was the only time during my stay that I was just a tad bit happy Michael didn’t join me – I was able to enjoy the macarons all by myself!

A fun highlight of every stay at Hotel Fauchère is getting to take advantage of the Kiehl’s lotions & soaps in their gorgeous marble bathrooms, and I even noticed that they were now stocking a few extra Kiehl’s goodies like face wash & lip balm!

I made a point to stick around for breakfast the next morning, and I’m so happy that I did. We’ve always had to depart fairly early, and have never had the opportunity to sit and enjoy the hotel’s breakfast. This rainy, Friday morning, I had the porch to myself, as I sat and watched life in Milford go by, enjoying the delicious spread of granola, pastries, yogurt, and grapefruit before me. As always, my visit was much too short, but just the mid-week, mid-trip pick-me-up I needed before a busy weekend of work!
