Weekend Reads: 02.01.13

Scratch-Baking-Company

Planning for our new Weekend Reads series has quickly become one of my favorite weekly pastimes, and I cannot even describe how happy it made me to see a few of our readers recently pin or share some of last week’s reads online.

I love citrus. I love pomegranates. And I love Campari. This drink I found on Pinterest seems like a no-brainer for me to whip up this weekend.

The Washington D.C. food scene is certainly garnering a lot of attention these days. Between this Food & Wine feature and this Travel & Leisure article, I’m thinking we might just need to plan a trip this spring to see the cherry blossoms in bloom and eat our way through the city. If we end up going, stopping by Capitol Hill Books will certainly be high on our list, thanks to the recommendation of Lindsay from The Pursuit of Style.

Scrolling through the photos from Yolanda Edwards’s trip to Provence to visit Sharon & Paul Mrozinski brought a smile to my face. The couple owns The Marston House, a darling antique store and bed & breakfast in Wiscasset, that we love visit when we’re in the area. When they close up the shop in Maine in the fall, they head to their home in Provence for the winter and spend their time scouting for goods to bring back to the shop. You can find more information about renting their apartments in Provence here.

I’m very thankful to now have Avalon Hotel Beverly Hills on my radar after reading about it on Habitually Chic this week!

I’d be lying if I told you that I was excited about the Super Bowl. (I know, I know.) These nachos, however, I can definitely get behind.

I hope you all had a wonderful work week so far! It seems as though Michael probably had the best week out of all of us, given that he’s been in Hawaii (!) for work this week. Have a lovely weekend!
