It seems as though we took another unintentional break from blogging this summer… last year we stepped away from the blog because we were simply too busy enjoying all kinds of outdoor summer adventures, but this year’s hiatus came out of the exact opposite situation. A few different factors made this summer a little difficult for us and maintaining our usual, cheery voice for this blog just didn’t seem right. The season didn’t really start to shine until we took our annual summer trip to Vermont, a getaway we even considered cancelling this year, but thankfully didn’t. Once we returned from this trip, things started to look up and our perspectives shifted, and as summer comes to a close next week, we’re feeling very optimistic about the new season and the change it brings.

With that being said, we’re really happy to share these photos from our most recent trip to the Green Mountain State. I brought along only my film camera and shot three rolls during our stay at Topnotch Resort in Stowe (see lots more of Topnotch from our 2014 visit) and our day trip through Warren & Waitsfield.

I’ve said once before that some of our little family’s happiest memories have taken place in the state of Vermont and this summer’s trip only confirmed that notion. I’m so thankful that over the years we’ve built this connection to such a special place.
