The weather is getting chilly and the holidays are fast approaching. Meredith and I used our weekend to disconnect and have some fun before the rush of the next couple of months and the subsequent winter hibernation.
We started our weekend off on the right foot with a much anticipated trip to Cava, in Portsmouth, for Restaurant Week, but no trip to Portsmouth is complete without dropping in to Gus & Ruby, where the window displays are amazing, the shelves stocked with the coolest holiday gifts, and the food-related conversation always leaves us looking forward to our return trip.
Meredith and I also did some pre-Black Friday shopping in Kittery, where we picked up a Le Creuset french oven on fantastic sale (that we’ve already broken in with a tasty brocoli cheddar soup), and a new bed for Orvis, from Orvis, to be used in the studio.
The rest of the weekend can pretty much be summed up with waffles, hiking with friends, and some time in the Old Port, filled by impromptu Duckfat milkshakes, Bard white hot chocolate, and trips to some of our favorite stores (check out those cool new candle holders and candlesticks from Blanche & Mimi).
Hopefully you guys had a fantastic weekend and are looking forward to Thanksgiving this week!
