Gift Guide: From Our Travels

Black Point Mercantile

In the spirit of your favorite blog holiday gift guides, Meredith and I thought we’d share a few items from our trips over the past year, for any of you (like me) who aren’t quite finished with your shopping. These are just a few of our favorites, many that we picked up for ourselves, and all of the stores below have an online shop, so check out the rest of their awesome collections from the comfort of your couch.

Upriver Home (online store)

The classic look of the Edison Lamp would easily make any desk 100x more awesome, and the last time we were in Milford, Meredith and I couldn’t resist picking up the Retro Thermometer to hang outside our kitchen so that we can tell just how cold it really gets in Maine this winter. The entire ‘Tabletop’ section of their site is full of gift ideas for anyone who loves to host a get together.

Seawall (online store)

It’s hard to go wrong with anything inside this unbelievably cool shop on Wharf Street, but if the leather iPhone Card Case would fit my 5, it’d be mine in a second, and there’s nothing wrong with me saying that washing up with a bar of the Seawall Soap will leave you feeling pretty badass. Meredith has always had her eye on the Waxed Canvas Tote from Black Point Mercantile – it’d surely make a great present for someone special on your list.

2 Note Perfumery (online store)

There’s no hiding how absolutely obsessed I am with the alcohol-free lavender and sandalwood Shave Cream, and I’m willing to bet that most any guy on your list would be as well. Meredith always hopes that their seasonally fresh Clementine Hand Creme will find its way to her stocking, possibly accompanied by a tube of the Dolce Lip Butter.

Haus Interior (online store)

This is a little bit of a preview, since we haven’t yet blogged about our trip to Haus Interior in New York, but since Meredith tried to get me to leave with the entire store, we figured that it should be included on the list. On that day, we left with a crazy-versatile Edison Wire Basket that can be folded and changed to fit any space in any home. Other gift ideas that stood out to us include the Copenhagen Carafe and the Neon Orange & Seafoam Bowl – two items that are sure to be the center of great conversation.

Furbish (online store)

When Meredith excitedly brought home our new Red Zebra Tray from her last trip to NC, she couldn’t stop going on and on about this fun Raleigh shop. How she didn’t pick up the Lobster Door Knocker though, is a mystery we may never solve. I found their online ‘Gift’ section to be full of fantastic ideas for many people on my list. Make sure to check out their 12 Days of Furbish, with daily deals, discounts, and giveaways, going on right now.
